John graduated from Cambridge University in 1986. He trained at Denton Hall and qualified in 1994. He has specialised in property and housing litigation since then. He joined Manches in 2002 and became a Partner in January 2007.
His work covers a wide range of commercial and residential property disputes, including lease renewals, dilapidations, service charge disputes, forfeiture and possession proceedings, boundary disputes and property - related negligence claims. He regularly advises landlords and tenants on their rights and liabilities in different insolvency situations (including company administrations and liquidations, and personal bankruptcies). Situations which commonly arise include claims against former tenants and guarantors, disclaimer of leases and continuing enforcement action once an insolvency process has started. He also advises a number of housing associations.
John is married with two children and enjoys football and music.
